Cleanrooms, controlled environment and containment spaces are used in a number of applications for industries such as medical, food processing, electronics, pharmaceuticals, biology and aerospace. Standards for cleanliness in these rooms have been published previously in FS209E and ISO 14644-1. These standards apply to air-flow, surfaces and other processes integral to maintaining very low particulates.

Light fixtures in cleanrooms must be sealed to prevent the accumulation of particulates inside the housing that may then lead to the contamination of the facilities sealed air-flow. Cleanrooms frequently require different levels of light based on the types of activities taking place.

The KURTZON™ KL-SBD-LED-AMBER is a Sealed 6” Aperture Recessed LED Downlight for Cleanroom Installations with white & amber separately controlled circuits. The fixture is available in aluminum or stainless steel formed with continuous lens hold-down system and screwless entry. The cleanroom style construction provides a smooth cleanable surface with no crevices. The downlight utilizes a one-piece gasket located at interface of the door and housing to seals the door to the lens. Four adjustable L-brackets allow for seismic support and secure attachment to metal T-Bars, joists or structural metal framing.

The fixture is ETL Listed for wet locations, suitable for non-IC installation and is IP-65 dust and water jet resistance.
